Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism

Ensure Compliance with the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

The EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is the EU's tool to put a fair price on the carbon emitted during the production of carbon intensive goods that are entering the EU, and to encourage cleaner industrial production in non-EU countries.

Products covered by the CBAM:

Steel, Aluminium, Cement, Fertilisers, Hydrogen, Electricity

If your organization is exporting these products into Europe, CBAM is applicable for your organization in following two steps.

Phase1, 2023-2025 (transition period):

Exporter will be required to report CO2 emissions associated with their exports. This phase aims to allow the implementation of monitoring and verification systems for exporters.

We TUV USA with our experienced and qualified auditors can provide exporters the readiness audit(pre-assessment) to be prepared for the second phase starting from 2026 as mentioned below.

Phase 2, From 2026:

Exporters will have to obtain verified CO2 emissions associated with their exports. From this phace third party audit and certification is required from an accredited Certification Body (CB) like TUV NORD.

TÜV Nord CERT GmbH holds an accreditation for ISO 14064-2 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions, for quantifying, monitoring, reporting and validating or verifying GHG emissions and removals.

We request you contact us for the discussion with your Sustainability Team to provide our services for your exports into EU.
